Ending the Year with Purpose, Starting the New One with Vision-2025 to 2026

As the year comes to an end, I take a moment to reflect on the journey—one filled with learning, challenges, and meaningful impact. Working as an Entrepreneur, Sustainable Water Solutions Expert, Renewable Energy Advocate, and Manager at Solargen Technologies in Somaliland has strengthened my belief that real progress comes from responsibility, consistency, and vision. Every project completed is not just technical work, but a step toward a stronger and more self-reliant nation.

As I step into the new year, my focus is clear: development with purpose. Sustainable water and renewable energy are not luxuries—they are foundations for economic growth, food security, and community resilience. By investing in smart infrastructure and clean energy, we are building systems that serve people today while protecting the future of our country.

Most importantly, I am committed to creating opportunities for youth—empowering them with skills, jobs, and the confidence to lead. Development succeeds when young people are included, trusted, and supported. Together, through entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration, we can build a country where opportunity is shared, progress is sustainable, and hope turns into action.

Visiting the Somaliland Mining Exhibition – Insights, Opportunities, and Connections

I recently visited the Somaliland Mining Exhibition, and it was a very valuable experience for me both professionally and personally. During the visit, I had the chance to explore many opportunities related to mining, energy, investment, and infrastructure development in Somaliland. The exhibition clearly showed how much potential the sector has and how it can contribute to economic growth and job creation.

One of the most important benefits for me was networking. I met professionals from different backgrounds, including government representatives, private companies, investors, engineers, and experts working in mining and related sectors. These discussions opened my mind to new ideas, partnerships, and possible future collaborations. Exchanging contacts and experiences was a key gain from attending the event.

I also learned a lot from the presentations, exhibitions, and one-on-one conversations. I gained better insight into current projects, new technologies, policy directions, and areas where skilled professionals and businesses can add value. Overall, this visit strengthened my understanding of the sector and confirmed that there are real opportunities for growth, innovation, and impact in Somaliland’s natural resource development.

Attending this exhibition was a meaningful step for my continuous learning, networking, and professional development, and I look forward to building on the connections and knowledge I gained from this experience.

Somaliland Urban Conference – Shirka Magaalaynta ee Somaliland

I participated in the Somaliland Urban Conference 2025, a national platform that brought together engineers, planners, and policymakers to discuss the future of urban development in our country. It was an important opportunity to engage with leaders who are shaping the direction of our cities.

During the conference, I shared my insights on Renewable energy, modern solar streetlighting systems, and the importance of transitioning toward safer underground electrical infrastructure. My focus was on practical solutions that improve city safety, reduce long-term costs, and enhance the beauty and organization of urban spaces.

This participation reflects my ongoing commitment to contributing real change through engineering and sustainable development. I remain dedicated to supporting efforts that build cleaner, safer, and more modern cities across Somaliland for the generations to come.

Technology, Youth, and Sustainable Solutions: My Participation in XALKA-DOON

Today, I had the opportunity to participate in the XALKA-DOON program organized by Telesom Group, an initiative that strongly reflects the growing role of technology and innovation in addressing real societal challenges. I attended the program as an entrepreneur and businessman, with a strong interest in how innovation can be transformed into practical, scalable solutions for our communities.

XALKA-DOON is designed to empower young people who specialize in technology and creative problem-solving. The program provides a valuable platform for youth to present innovative ideas and develop solutions that respond directly to the challenges facing our society. Being part of this initiative allowed me to engage with talented young innovators and gain insight into the future direction of technology-driven development.

This year’s theme focused on drought and water scarcity, one of the most critical issues affecting our country and region. The participants presented practical, technology-based solutions aimed at improving water management, resilience, and sustainability. It was encouraging to see how innovation and local knowledge can be combined to address such complex challenges.

Overall, the program was a meaningful experience that reinforced my belief in the power of innovation, collaboration, and youth-led solutions. Events like XALKA-DOON play an important role in shaping a sustainable future by connecting ideas, talent, and leadership to drive positive economic and social impact.

Consultative Meeting for the Review of Somaliland National Energy Policy

I was honored to take part in the Consultative Meeting for the Review of the Somaliland National Energy Policy, a platform that brought together key thinkers, experts, and innovators shaping the future of our country’s energy landscape. Being part of this national dialogue allowed me to contribute ideas grounded in real field experience, especially from the work I lead in rural electrification, borehole solarization, and community-based water supply systems.

As an entrepreneur working at the intersection of technology, renewable energy, and local development, I believe policy is one of the strongest tools for long-term change. This consultation was an opportunity to ensure that the voices of practitioners, engineers, and project managers are included in shaping a policy that is both practical and future-ready. My focus was on promoting solutions that are scalable, cost-effective, and accessible to communities across Somaliland.

My work in sustainable water solutions has shown me how clean energy can transform lives — from powering deep boreholes to supporting agricultural development, livestock, and household needs. During the meeting, I emphasized the importance of integrating solar pumping systems, smart energy management, and climate-resilient infrastructure into the national framework. These systems not only improve service delivery but also reduce operational costs for communities and institutions.

As a renewable energy advocate, I am committed to supporting policies that open doors for innovation, strengthen local capacity, and attract investment into the energy sector. Being part of this national consultation reinforced my belief that Somaliland has the potential to build an inclusive, reliable, and modern energy system. I will continue contributing to this mission through entrepreneurship, field experience, and collaboration with public and private partners.

Friends of Migrants – Business Roundtable & Skills -SUpport from IOM (International Organization for Migration

As an entrepreneur, I found the conversations very valuable because they showed the important role businesses play in economic development. The event highlighted that long-term impact comes from strong partnerships between companies, institutions, and communities, not from working alone.

My participation in this event reflects my commitment to responsible entrepreneurship and sustainable development. Being part of this platform supports my goal of contributing to skills development, inclusive growth, and stronger local economies in Somaliland.

I participated in the Friends of Migrants – Business Roundtable & Skills Matchmaking Day as a company representative and entrepreneur. The event brought together private-sector companies, development partners, and institutions to discuss how businesses can support job creation, skills matching, and economic inclusion for migrants and host communities in Somaliland.

The roundtable created a good space for sharing ideas on inclusive employment, green businesses, and private-sector cooperation. The discussions focused on connecting skills training with real market needs and helping businesses work more closely with development organizations to create practical and sustainable job opportunities.
